My Changer will take the bill(s) $1, $5, $10 and brings it into the stacker then it won't compact it to the other bills intead it gives me a 6 flashes pause 5 flashes code "Validator Shut Down Error" I have cleaned the rollars and did the side scan and recalibrated the optics and it still happens I cannot keep sending this into the service dept.

You'd be much happier pulling out the XE validator and the stacker and going with a Mars conversion. The first validator I replaced with Mars was for the same reason as you, at random times the stacker wouldn't cycle and it would either go out of service or jam. I replaced everything and never got it to work right.

The problem is with the stacker not the XE validator. The stackers do wear out over time, how old is your stacker? If it’s over 2 years old it may not worth repairing. A couple of things you can check are the pusher plate, see if you can push it up, it you can there is a problem with the spring that pulls it back up or with the motor or linkage. You can run the RNS changer without the stacker by plugging in the Stacker Bypass plug, which is cable tied about 4 inches from the end of the stacker cable, it has a Purple wire loop on it. This plug makes the controller think that the stacker is there and operating.

I will try the stacker bypass today and just have a box in place of the stacker and see what happens the hopper and validator have been serviced but the stacker I never thought of getting serviced that make sense now.
